Licensed counselor Rae, in addition to her professional experience, had struggles with her own son during his adolescent years. Her title is aimed at parents with rebellious teens and is focused on maintaining communication, recognizing alcohol or drug abuse, and effectively dealing with oppositional adolescent behavior within the greater understanding of the developmental years. The text should be understood in the context of the author's greater goal of conveying that "there is always hope for the parent who has committed their teenager to God." VERDICT Appeal will be limited to a Christian audience that would find sustenance in the prayers and scripture embedded throughout.
