In The Keepers series final episode, Nell and Owen must learn all they can from the wizard and learn to work together. Davina Porter aptly portrays Nell's youth and intense caring, as well as her and impetuousness. She must think things through if she is to rule wisely. In lower tones and staccato speech, Porter becomes Owen, Nell's twin--solid, practical, and a survivor, but lacking Nell's sensitivity. While Porter gives all the characters individual voices, sometimes the dialogue tags are helpful. She adjusts the pace and reads with such feeling that she invokes Nell's urgency and passion, and we are on edge, waiting for the denouement. W.L.S. (c) AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
