Readers who love Vegas or Texas Hold 'Em will revel in the richly detailed casino trappings and lengthy play-by-play of card hands. However, the label "romance" sits oddly on this poker tale. Nova trembles and Vesper kowtows before a dismaying and distracting array of men. Sparks do fly between the womenâeventuallyâbut the only convincing love that Nova and Vesper project is their unabashed yearning for cash.
